Police have issued an update confirming that Rihanna’s home in Beverly Hills was hit by gunfire yesterday, Sunday, March 8.
According to the BBC, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at 13:15 local time on Sunday. A suspect, a woman said to be in her 30s, was located and taken into custody.
Authorities told CBS News that assault rifle casings were found at the scene. Hugely successful artist Rihanna, meanwhile, was said to be home at the time of the shooting.
Police say the suspect stopped in a vehicle outside the singer’s home and fired seven to nine shots before speeding away. Four of the shots are said to have hit the house.
The LA Times published LAPD radio dispatch from the incident confirming that the car used by the shooter, a white Tesla, had allegedly fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive after the incident.
Officers in a helicopter are said to have quickly found the vehicle and followed it to a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where the suspect was arrested roughly half an hour after the initial 911 call came in.

Armen Arias, a spokesperson with the LAPD, said: “When they pulled the suspect over and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and located an assault rifle and seven casings.”
He added that officers found bullet holes in a gate and in an RV parked in Rihanna’s driveway.
Police Sgt. Jonathan de Vera, also with the Los Angeles Police Department, confirmed that no injuries were reported at the incident.
According to NBC News, LAPD Capt. Mike Bland said in a statement that more information on the suspect, including booking allegations, would be released on today, Monday, March 9.
