As with any goal, setting a goal for yourself to lose weight is not easy to achieve. When Jessica, set out on her journey, it was not that simple. She shares how she had a hard time even walking, let alone doing strenuous workouts.
“The beginning was pretty hard – just exercising was hard, just walking was hard for me. There was a lot of stuff I could not do,” Jessica said. “So, I had to do a lot of modifications, but I didn’t give up; I just kept going, and I told myself, ‘You know what? If I can’t right now, eventually I can.’”
She had decided she would not give up and told herself she would get to a point where she felt confident and strong. Jessica began her weight loss journey on January 5, 2019 at 354.2 pounds. She could not believe she had let her weight get to such a point in the first place but this determined her all the more to lose it.
Because of her weight, she routinely suffered from muscle and body aches in various areas of her body. She also had an abnormal blood pressure and menstrual cycle. But apart from that, she did not have any other issues with her health as a result of her weight. But she knew she needed to make a lifestyle change so she could live a healthier life!
“When I started my journey, I started doing boot camp, which is a full body workout for just 30 minutes, and that really helped me a lot,” Jessica shared. “I also did a little bit of strength training, high-intensity interval training, and then a little bit of cardio. And it was hard – it was not easy at all – especially being 354 pounds and going to a gym.”
She said gyms were not something she preferred but she kept herself consistent and soon noticed a drop in her weight. She first noticed a drop in fat in her face and waist, which motivated her to continue. She also altered her diet so she could be more consistent with her weight loss goals, and it worked in helping her shed a lot of weight!
She stopped eating fast food, processed food, sweets, and other foods which would be considered unhealthy. She replaced those with low-carb, low-fat, and low-sugar foods. From all these alterations to her life, she lost 100 pounds in just a little over 5 months!
Her success in her goals proves that by staying consistent, you can do anything! She made sure that her diet and exercise stayed consistent, and it yielded her tremendous results.
She advised people to always love themselves as it helped a lot. She shared that even at her biggest, she did not hate herself because making changes from a place of hate cannot always stay consistent or be beneficial for you.
Now Jessica consistently records and shares her journey on social media to inspire thousands of people across the world. She documents how her bodybuilding is going and all the new goals she sets for herself.
