A video recently posted on social media began gaining virality and depicts what happens to a fetus when a mother begins to laugh. The fetus, which is minding its business, hanging out in the mother’s uterus, is suddenly ‘under attack’ when the mother begins laughing.
As to what the context of the video was, as in what joke was told that made the mom do a full belly laugh, we do not know. But as soon as the mother begins to laugh, the baby begins to experience what we can only imagine as tremors from an earthquake. One person wrote on Reddit under the video, very aptly, “BIRTHQUAKE!!!!”
While we do not know how the baby truly feels as he is still inside the womb, the image shown on the ultrasound screen shows the little one moving around in what seems like confusion. The sleepy tranquility of the mother’s womb suddenly transforms into what might only feel like an amusement park ride to an unborn child.
In the video, the uterus contracts in shape, and it seems like it gets right in the baby’s face. This makes it seem like the baby not only is being shaken but also has less space than before.
And it seems people are confused on how to feel about it. One person wrote, “I showed this to my wife (she’s pregnant) She couldn’t stop laughing, I don’t know if that’s wholesome or creepy.”
While a parent was quick to think of their own pregnancy and what their kids might have gone through. They wrote, “Oh dear I owe my kids an apology.” Another user wanted to point out how this might be the reason behind why humans like amusement parks. All in all, it seems that people do not know what happens when a mother laughs during an ultrasound, and don’t worry, as it doesn’t seem to do any harm to the mother or child.
