Prince Harry

Prince Harry

Prince Harry, born September 15, 1984, is a British prince, the Duke of Sussex, the younger son of Charles III and Diana, the Princess of Wales, and brother to the future king, Prince William. Harry made headlines worldwide when he and his wife, Meghan Markle, decided to leave the Royal Family in 2020. Since then, he has published his tell-all memoir Spare, which became the fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time.

Prince Harry Early Life

Prince Harry grew up with his parents, King Charles and Princess Diana, and his brother, Prince William. They lived at Kensington Palace and attended Wetherby School, Ludgrove School, and later Eton College.

Harry had several girlfriends during his teenage years. His longest relationship prior to Meghan Markle was with Chelsy Davy, which lasted from 2004 to 2011.

Prince Harry married his wife, Meghan Markle, in 2018. They welcomed son Prince Archie in 2019 and daughter Princess Lilibet in 2021. Prince Harry, his wife, and their children reside in Montecito, California.

Royal Exit

In January 2020, Harry and Meghan announced that they were stepping back as working members of the Royal Family. The Sussexes left the UK and, after a short stint in Canada, settled down in the US.

In the years that followed, Harry and Meghan spoke out against the Royal Family and its members several times, for example, in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in which they claimed to have been let down by the royals and how their mental health deteriorated.

Prince Harry Economy

Prince Harry received about 95% of his annual income from his father, King Charles when he was still a working member of the Royal Family. However, once he and Meghan Markle left the Royal Family, he made money from several projects, such as the deal with Netflix, for which Harry and Meghan reportedly received $100 million. The Sussexes released their own documentary series, Harry & Meghan, in 2022 on the streaming service. In 2023, Harry released his second documentary series, Heart of Invictus, which follows a group of athletes as they prepare for the 2022 Invictus Games, a sporting event for wounded veterans founded by Harry.

Harry also received around $10 million for his and Meghan Markle's Spotify deal, for which the Duchess created a podcast. However, in 2023, the deal was canceled. A joint statement stated they had "mutually agreed to part ways."

When Prince Harry turned 40, he received $8.5 million in inheritance from a family trust fund set up by the late Queen Mother when he was only a child.

How much did Harry inherit from Diana?

Prince Harry and his brother Prince William both inherited money when their mother, Princess Diana, tragically passed away in 1997. The brothers were reportedly given $10 million each after taxes.

Why did Harry inherit more than William?

Prince Harry's inheritance is bigger than his brother's because eventually, Prince William will become king. Therefore, he will inherit the billion-dollar private estate of the Duchy of Cornwall as his future role as king. According to the Royal Family, it currently provides an annual income of £21 million, around $27 million, which Prince William will use to support himself and his family.
