Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos got married in the summer of 2025. The couple’s wedding was incredibly talked about because of a number of reasons; one being that it was held in Venice, Italy.

In a video of the couple from the red carpet, Sánchez looks in her husband’s direction in a bid to catch his attention, but he remains focused on the cameras flashing in front of him. Because of his lack of reciprocation, Sánchez looks away as well.
One person wrote, “Anyone who understands human psychology knows this is the look a woman gives a man when divorce is imminent.” There were a lot of reactions to this post on X, with a lot of people seeming to agree.
Another user added, “…In relationship psychology, contempt is the “sulfuric acid” of intimacy; once it enters the dynamic, the foundation is already gone…” Another wrote, “…his gaze doesn’t speak…it screams…. She reacts…”
While others thought that this might have been reading into the moment too much, writing, “To me she just looks disappointed Bezos didn’t exchange glances back at her when she placed her hand on his shoulder.” Another wrote, “Wait… there’s a divorce look? I thought there was only the ‘I love you, but you’re annoying’ look.”
A body language expert also weighed in on the situation. Judi James spoke to a media outlet, saying, “Context is important though and rather than a scathing glance, Lauren’s expression here looks more like one of minor disappointment as her flirt signals don’t immediately get met with a complimentary response.”
She said of it, “the corners of her mouth turning down and the smile fading from her eyes.”
