Meghan Markle is facing accusations of “psychotic jealousy” and “neglect” after critics scrutinized a newly shared photo of Princess Lilibet.
On June 9, Meghan Markle shared an Instagram post that featured a mix of candid family moments, scenes from around the Sussexes’ Montecito home and a subtle reference to her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Among the photos were snapshots of Prince Harry spending time outdoors with 7-year-old Prince Archie, baskets filled with fresh produce, the family’s rescue dog relaxing in the sun and a throwback image from the early days of Harry and Meghan’s relationship.
One picture, however, quickly drew more attention than the rest.
‘B is for Beyoncé’
The image showed 5-year-old Princess Lilibet wearing a white “B Is for Beyoncé” T-shirt.
The choice of shirt was a fitting nod to one of the family’s favorite artists. Meghan and Harry have long been vocal Beyoncé fans, and in May 2025, the duchess shared photos from the singer’s Cowboy Carter tour stop at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

“About last night…. Thank you @beyonce and team for an amazing concert (and a very fun date night)! All love,” Meghan captioned the post, which included sweet moments of her and Prince Harry enjoying the show together.
But in Meghan’s newest family photo dump, the conversation shifted away from Beyoncé and toward details critics spotted in Lilibet’s appearance.
Lilibet Photo Sparks Debate
Although Meghan disabled comments on the Instagram post, discussion soon spread across social media platforms, where users dissected the images frame by frame.
“Why is Lily’s shirt stained, can’t bother changing it before you take pictures??” one Reddit user asked.
A second wrote: “That dirty tT-shirt on that poor child! Of course kids will get stains on some of their clothes, but why post it?! It’s borderline psychotic – only share photos of child looking dirty and unkempt. What is wrong with this woman?!”
“B is for Better get your Mama to find you a clean shirt!” a third shared.
“Filthy, literally filthy. Are they aiming for the sponsorship of Tide or a soap brand? And, no it’s not cute to put your child online in dirty clothes. It’s disturbing,” another added.
‘Psychotic jealousy’ and ‘neglect’
As more people joined the conversation, the criticism grew increasingly harsh, with some accusing the mother of being jealous of her young daughter.
“Actual stained clothes this time. Beyoncé isn’t going near you, Megs. You [aren’t] invited to the cookout and never will be. I’m starting to think this neglect of the girl child is psychotic jealousy.
A separate user went even further, writing: “Little Betty must not steal mummy’s spotlight… Those poor kids, oh my gosh. Lili always looks so dirty and dressed poorly.”
Harry’s ‘girl dad’ shirt
The scrutiny was not limited to Lilibet.
Another image showed Harry kicking a soccer ball around with Archie while wearing a T-shirt that read “girl dad,” a detail that also sparked discussion online.
“While playing with Archie, the orange prince is wearing a ‘girl dad’ t-shirt. That poor little boy,” one Redditor penned.
“Why is H playing soccer with Archie but wearing a ‘girl dad’ t-shirt? Poor Archie, fake football, dad doesn’t even acknowledge him on his shirt…crazy,” a second commenter wrote.
