Vera Wang reveals secret behind her youthful appearance at 76 after iconic red carpet moment

Fashion icon Vera Wang, 76, has shared her secret to maintaining her youthful appearance, as her age-defying beauty continues to make headlines.

Taking care of one’s appearance and wanting to look our best isn’t anything new. Throughout history, beauty trends have come and gone – but feeling attractive, healthy, and satisfied with the way we look is part of human nature.

Beauty is, of course, subjective, and what one person finds attractive may not be what someone else is aiming for. But every now and then, a celebrity’s appearance gets people talking, especially when they seem to age in reverse. One person who’s often sparked that reaction is fashion icon Vera Wang.

Vera Wang on aging

When she recently appeared on the red carpet, fans were without a doubt impressed.

“Nobody should stop being themselves just cuz they’re older. I think this is sweet,” one social media user commented, according to LADbible.

“Love her…. enviable aging!” another wrote, while a third added: “She looks 60 ish not 74, an impressive feat.”

Another person commented: “Homegirl just went and unsubscribed from aging.”

In an interview with Page Six, Wang revealed her secret, which LADbible summarized as “work, sleep, a vodka cocktail, not much sun,” with a side of McDonald’s.

According to Wang, she sometimes spends up to two weeks eating McDonald’s every day. Then, when she gets bored, she switches to another fast-food chain. A few years ago, however, she completely quit drinking diet soda and replaced it with water only – a habit she said wasn’t easy to break.

“I think work keeps you young”

For her, it seems balance is simply key.

“I like sashimi with brown rice and vegetables, Chinese steamed broccoli with chicken and rice, or the artichoke salad or fish,” she said, according to LADbible.

“At one point I was eating a slice of Ray’s pizza every day, and I never gained a pound on it. It’s not a bad thing if you squeeze out that excess oil. It’s so filling.”

The real secret, though, according to Wang, is her career.

“Basically, I’ve worked my whole life, so it’s really been about work. I think work keeps you young and stimulated. I work very long hours, I’ve raised two daughters. I think keeping busy is the best antidote [for] good health.”

She also emphasized the importance of not making youthfulness an obsession.

“I never thought about going way out of my way to preserve my youth in a fanatical, obsessive way.”
