Whether you know William Daniels as John Adams from 1776, Mark Craig from St. Elsewhere or Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World, the award-winning actor recently celebrated his 96th birthday, and he did it with some of his favorite costars right by his side!
Daniels and his wife Bonnie Bartlett Daniels, who starred alongside her husband in St. Elsewhere and appeared in several episodes of Boy Meets World, reunited with the cast of the 1990s’ series.
The special reunion took place before the cast attended the 2023 Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo.
“The gang was honored to celebrate 96 years with the legendary Bill Daniels, in-person at Chicago’s @theloyalistchicago,” a post shared on Pod Meets World Instagram read.

William starred as Mr. Feeny, the beloved teacher on Boy Meets World, and it seems like his real-life personality wasn’t too far off from the teacher turned college professor.
“When we were kids, goofing off and having a good time, he was very much a Feeny-like presence,” Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter, told People in June 2022. “Even when the cameras weren’t there, in terms of knowing his lines, being a complete professional, being on time. Those were things that we needed to see, and had to learn to emulate in order to be professionals in the industry.”
“95 years old and he still shoots out the pearls of wisdom. His wife, Bonnie, as well,” Will Friedle, known for playing Eric Matthews, commented. “Talking to them is still magical.”
Even though the series ended in 2000 – William did make several appearances in the mid-2000s’ reboot Girl Meets World – the 96-year-old has kept in touch with his former castmates.
Danielle Fishel, who hosts Pod Meets World with former costars Friedle and Hunter, said they’ve had William on their podcast several times, and “if you’re willing to listen, Bill is dropping gems left and right.”
The group’s get together took place before this past weekend’s Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. The cast will once again reunite in September just in time for Boy Meets World‘s 30th anniversary when they attend 90s Con when it heads to Tampa, Florida.
It always warms my heart to see former costars keep in touch despite decades passing since the projects they worked on together.
