3-year-old celebrates being adopted after spending most of his life in foster care

All children deserve a loving family of their own but sadly too many children don’t have this security and support in their lives.

At just 3 years old Michael Brown had spent most of his life in foster care until he was officially adopted by single mom Tara Montgomery who has three other kids.

The 3-year-old had been temporarily living with the Montgomery family in Phoenix, Arizona, since February 2015, with the plan that he would eventually return to his birth mother.

“His original case plan was reunification with his ‘bio-mom.’ When that plan failed, a new plan was set,” his new mom said, as per Black News.

On his official adoption day a photo was taken of little Michael celebrating which has since gone viral for the pure joy he displays.

Within three days of the photo being posted on social media it had been shared more than 50,000 times.

“The photos are the definition of his personality,” Tara said. “He couldn’t help but let everyone know that he was being adopted today. We are so happy to have Michael in our lives.”

Tara said Michael becoming part of the family was just meant to be after he arrived at their home on Valentine’s Day and she added he even looks like her other children.

She hopes the photos of happy little Michael encourages other families to think about adopting.

“If you are thinking about it, just do it. The impact you are making will last a lifetime on the child,” she added.

I could look at Michael’s adoption picture all day, he’s the sweetest, most joyful child and I wish him a life of joy and love with his new family.
