Mom sets the record straight: Her ‘black & white’ sons are identical twins

Daniel and David, twin brothers born in Nigeria last year, are truly special.

All babies delivered unto the world are unique in their own way, but this pair really have something that sets them apart. They’ve racked up quite the following on Instagram in a short space of time. The reason? They’re nearly biological identical … but look nothing alike.

You see, Daniel was born with dark skin and dark hair while his brother David has albinism. This creates a stark contrast between the twins, and is a truly eye-catching phenomenon.

Speaking to Bored Panda, mom Stacy explained: “We did not know about their differences while I was pregnant, the scan did not show such so it was a huge surprise and the most amazing moment when the first twin [Daniel] came out with black hair and the second twin [David] came out with gold hair.

“I had them through CS, so the doctors were like: ‘It seems you are having totally unidentical twins.'”

David’s albinism is said to affect one in 20,000 people worldwide. The condition can lead to certain health complications, such as issues with vision, but Stacy says David is perfectly healthy.

The boys recently celebrated their 1st birthday in March, and it was a Minions-themed event!

Of the boys’ Instagram page, Stacy told Bored Panda: “We opened an [Instagram] account for them because we believe they have a story to tell to the world and also as a way of creating awareness.”

She continued: “There’re always side talks whenever we go out, people often wanna know how and what’s happening and maybe due to their cute and adorable nature, you just wanna come close to say hello.”

For Stacy, the best gift these boys can give to the world is learning and understanding. I don’t know about you, but I think the twins are beautiful in their own right.

Wow, Daniel and David really are special. The world needs to see such love and hope at this time, so help us spread it.
