Fans divided over snap of Chris Hemsworth’s twin son in cheeky pose

Chris Hemsworth recently shared a “photo dump” from his family vacation in Japan, and while most of the snaps capture heartwarming moments, one shocking image of his 11-year-old twin son has caused a fiery debate among online fans.

When Chris Hemsworth isn’t saving the universe as Thor, the God of Thunder, he’s embracing his role as a doting dad and adventure-loving family man.

Recently, the 41-year-old Marvel star – who was earlier in South Korea filming the second season of his hit National Geographic docuseries, Limitless with Chris Hemsworth – took a well-deserved break from Hollywood for a dreamy vacation with his wife, Elsa Pataky, and their three kids – 12-year-old India Rose and 11-year-old twins, Sasha and Tristan.

Offering fans a glimpse into his trip with his tribe, the Australian superstar shared a series of photos that captured the fun-filled adventures, from skiing in the snow-covered mountains to exploring the bustling city streets and enjoying some downtime in their luxury hotel.

Twins turn 11

Included in the March 23 “photo dump” was one snap of the twins celebrating their March 18 birthday with some goodies topped with smoking candles.

As soon as the star of Ghostbusters uploaded the photos, fans jumped into the comments section, showering the superhero father with praise for prioritizing dad duties.

“Happy Birthday to you young little men,” one fan writes to Hemsworth’s boys on Facebook.

On Instagram, a second shares, “Gosh… can you just imagine being the son of THOR??” And a third offers, “Love this – keep being real. Love you and your entire family.”

‘Atrocious behavior’

While the majority of images in Hemsworth’s “photo dump” have been melting hearts, one snapshot has sparked a fiery debate among fans.

In the photo, one of the twins is seen casually playing with a phone while cheekily flashing the middle finger at the camera.

And, as the post gained traction, fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“Bad manners in a young child and parents are proud of it??” writes one fan, suggesting the boy’s behavior is inappropriate.

A second writes that it’s “not so cute…let’s take a photo instead of correcting the behaviour. What wonderful parents to condone this atrocious behaviour at such a young age.”

“Can’t understand why parents allow their kids to put the finger up. It’s not funny, just disrespectful,” shares a third.

‘It’s so humorous’

Meanwhile, many fans defended the star of Furiosa: Mad Max Saga, arguing that the moment was a candid, unfiltered glimpse into family life.

“Y’all so mad over the middle finger and it’s so humorous lmfao,” shares one fan on Instagram.

A second explains the middle finger salute was something he did decades ago with his teenage son, who’s now a successful adult: “Giving the middle finger! Haha! We are still flipping each other off and he is 31! We laugh and have fun with it! It didn’t make him a bad teen [nor did it] harm him in any way! He’s now a police officer. So, if you don’t want to do that with your family, then don’t.”

A third offers, “The only thing I dislike instead, I hope they’re not raising up little entitled brats…Not nice to show that attitude.”

Disagreeing that the preteen was being funny, or rude with his pose, another adds, “Times have changed. The amount of people in here who think this is fine is quite honestly shocking to me. When I was a kid that age had I done this, I’d have been in super deep trouble…It isn’t about being offensive or being a boy folks, it’s about respect for one’s elders.”

One thing’s for sure – whether he’s fighting villains or hitting the slopes, Chris Hemsworth always knows how to keep fans entertained!
