Horrific video shows factory worker being pulled to his death and shredded by industrial machine

In Vietnam, a worker was shredded by an industrial machine while trying to free a stuck tool, and since his death, horrifying footage that shows his final moments is making its rounds on social media.

On May 7, shortly after 6 a.m., 34-year-old Ro Mah J arrived for work at the Chanh Tay Gia Lai Joint Stock Company plant in Vietnam, according to local outlet DTI News.

Shortly after starting his shift, authorities explained that the man was standing inside a large container, feeding material into the industrial-sized rubber grinder when his tool suddenly became trapped inside the machine.

Video from the scene that was shared online captured the terrifying moment that Ro tried desperately to pull the tool free before the powerful shredder dragged him inside – feet first.

Seconds later, his head goes out of view and into the shredder with the rest of his body, and water is seen spraying out from the bottom of the container into another pool of liquid.

As he disappeared, horrifying screams are heard from a witness, who watched the incident unfold.

Ro was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deadly work conditions

DTI News reports that local authorities have since started investigating the accident to determine exactly how the incident happened and whether any workplace safety violations may have played a role.

The disturbing case quickly spread online after reports described the graphic footage captured at the factory.

“Let go of the tool!” one netizen tweeted.

“Tragic, but these videos should be mandatory viewing in every factory owner’s office worldwide. Nothing teaches safety like seeing the alternative,” shared a second user, while another added: “All this to save his shovel.”

Workplace tragedies

The horrifying factory accident is just the latest workplace tragedy involving dangerous industrial equipment, as similar deadly incidents continue surfacing around the world.

Also on May 7, KY3 reported that a 59-year-old Missouri man was sucked into a grain bin while trying to fix the jammed auger.

Rescue crews worked for more than an hour to save him from the deadly grasp of the grain – described as being like “quicksand” – but he later died of his injuries.

On the same day, a Malaysian man died after falling almost 40 feet from a building under construction, local media reported.
