A $200,000 wedding was just weeks away, but one TikTok creator says he was willing to walk away from the entire thing after a conversation with his fiancée about Lindsay Clancy left him questioning whether they shared the same values.

Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother who has been accused of killing her three children, has received support from some women who have pointed to her severe postpartum struggles. But David Mãrumbâõ said he was stunned to discover that his soon-to-be wife believed Clancy was innocent.
For him, the disagreement became impossible to ignore.
He said of it, “I can’t believe I was gonna get married to a monster.”
In a video posted on September 5, Mãrumbâõ said he had been planning to marry his partner the following month. “So I just canceled my wedding. I was gonna get married next month.”
He explained that he had asked his fiancée what she thought about the Clancy case. He revealed her answer, “She told me that she’s innocent.”
The Conversation Took An Even Darker Turn
According to Mãrumbâõ, his fiancée argued that he could not truly judge Clancy because he would never understand what a woman experiences during postpartum.
But he said that wasn’t ultimately what convinced him to end the relationship.
The turning point came when he asked her about Clancy’s three children, who prosecutors say were killed by strangulation with resistance bands in the family’s basement.
Mãrumbâõ claimed his fiancée responded, “Who cares.”
That alleged response, he said, completely changed how he viewed their relationship. And whether he could imagine building a family with her.

Many viewers supported Mãrumbâõ and said discovering such a fundamental difference before the wedding was worth more than the money already spent.
One person wrote, “You just saved your future kids lives! Good for you!” while another added, “Makes me sick too. So many women defending that lady.”
But others thought Mãrumbâõ’s former fiancée may have been the one who escaped a bad situation. One person wrote, “I think you did her a huge favor by cancelling the wedding.”
Another questioned how the couple could have reached the point of planning a wedding without knowing where they stood on such major issues.
Other Couples Have Reportedly Broken Up Over The Same Case
Mãrumbâõ isn’t the only person whose relationship has reportedly been affected by the Lindsay Clancy case.
A screenshot circulating online showed a woman confronting her former partner about their breakup. According to the exchange, the man said her position on Clancy exposed “a fundamental difference” in their values and created doubts he couldn’t risk carrying into his future family.
Clancy’s Case Has Become A Flashpoint Beyond The Courtroom
The debate surrounding Clancy has extended far beyond her trial.
She spent weeks in court as jurors considered whether she was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children. After seven days of deliberations, however, the jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict, resulting in a mistrial.
During the proceedings, women gathered outside the courthouse holding signs expressing support for Clancy and emphasizing that they believed she needed help.
Financial support has also emerged. A GoFundMe campaign intended to help secure the future of Clancy’s parents has reportedly raised more than $1 million, with a $3 million goal.
The mistrial leaves prosecutors with several possible paths, including pursuing another trial, negotiating a plea agreement, or dropping the first-degree homicide charges.
If Clancy is retried and convicted, she could face life in prison.
