Barbara Eden is a beloved American actress, best known for her role as the enchanting, yet mischievous genie in the 1960s hit sitcom I Dream of Jeannie. Born Barbara Jean Morehead on August 23, 1931, in Tucson, Arizona, Eden moved with her family from Arizona to San Francisco, California, during her childhood. At a young age, she displayed incredible talent in music and performance, singing in church choirs and later at local nightclubs. After graduating from high school, she studied theater at the City College of San Francisco and continued to pursue acting classes at the Elizabeth Holloway School of Theatre.
