Gwyneth Paltrow posed topless on Instagram and her fans had a lot to say about the snap, but it wasn’t the reaction you’d expect. In fact it was far from it.
Paltrow, who was on vacation in Italy with her husband Brad Falchuk, received countless comments urging her and others to use sunscreen.
“That first pic is a great advert for sunscreen if ever I saw one,” one person wrote.
In the first photo of a carousel of seven, the 50-year-old actress relaxed on a blue lounge chair next to her husband. She wore nothing but gold-rimmed aviator sunglasses and a necklace – her arm covered her chest.
Fans were quick to point out her skin, which many suggested to be heavily damaged by the sun.
“It doesn’t add up to me. The poster queen for a health and wellness empire having skin that badly sun damaged,” one person wrote.
“Look at all the sun damage on your skin. What goop product will fix that,” another concerned fan wrote.
Paltrow is the founder of Goop, a wellness and lifestyle brand.
This isn’t the first time people have shown concern for Paltrow’s supposed sun-damaged skin.
In May she shared a carousel of photos where numerous dark spots, associated with sun exposure, were seen on her chest.
Even though you may not notice it, each time you go outside without sunscreen the ultraviolet light from the sun damages your skin. Without proper protection this damage can accumulate and cause a person to develop wrinkles, age spots, loose skin, spider veins, and a blotchy complexion, according to the American Academy of Dermatolgoy Association.
Although it’s important to protect our skin from UV rays, is it necessary to call out others for not using sunscreen?
