Many of us know Pierce Brosnan as James Bond; the suave international spy who romances his female leads in various exotic locations. Yet though Brosnan’s depiction of the British secret service agent remains iconic, his real life off-camera is very different…
Now aged 69 (when did that happen?!), Brosnan has enjoyed a long and very successful career at the top of the entertainment industry. Not only that, but he’s managed to amass quite the following, with people all over the world counting themselves amongst his legion of fans.
It’s not that surprising that Pierce Brosnan once held the title of “The Sexiest Man Alive.” When it comes to love, however, the celebrated actor has eyes one for one woman: wife Keely Shaye Smith.
The couple reportedly met at a party in 1994 at a party in Cabo San Lucas. The two of them instantly hit it off. Brosnan recalled: “Wherever I went in the world, I missed her, and I’d send her tickets to come so we could be together. We just seemed to fit.”

All told, Pierce has five children and three grandchildren, and by all accounts he’s a doting father and grandfather.
The actor’s life hasn’t always been sunshine and roses – he experienced heart-breaking loss over two decades, first when he became a widower and then 22 years later when he lost his daughter to the same illness that had claimed her mother’s life – but one can safely say that when Brosnan looks back on all he’s accomplished and done, he won’t have many regrets.
Indeed, it’s difficult to process that the Goldeneye star is now entering that period of his life where he can be expected to take a step back from the limelight and focus on home comforts.
There are few things that will really drive home that fact quite like looking at his children, who are of course now adults leading their own professional lives. His youngest son, Paris, is now 21 years old, and boy does he look like a young Pierce’s twin…
All told, Pierce has five children: two with his current wife, Keely Shaye Smith, one from his marriage to former wife Cassandra Harris, and two of Cassandra’s children from her previous marriage that he adopted in 1986
His daughter Charlotte tragically died of ovarian cancer in 2013, leaving Pierce with a hole in his heart that will never truly be filled.
Yet he has always remained steadfast in his willingness to be involved in the lives of his other children, and it would appear that his two sons, Dylan and Paris, are following in their famous father’s foosteps.
Pierce’s eldest son Dylan is a model, musician, and filmmaker. Paris, meanwhile, is passionate about cinema, and also works as a model.
Paris is the youngest of the James Bond actor’s children, and arguably looks the most like his dad.
“He’s the best coach they could have ever asked for,” Paris said.
The Brosnan brothers – Dylan and Paris – were largely kept away from the spotlight growing up, and so it shocked fans of their father to see them as fully-grown men.
Paris, in particular, turned heads when he appeared at the Golden Globes ceremony – people on the internet just couldn’t get over how much he looked like a young version of Pierce!
Indeed, each time Pierce and Paris are seen together, social media is flooded by comments regarding their likeness.
As stated, Paris is a model (no surprise given his genes), but he’s also a soul who cares deeply about the world and wants to make a difference. The 21-year-old created an inspiring documentary after a trip to Sri Lanka, produced to highlight the charitable work done by the UN World Food Program.
In the documentary, Paris followed the WFP during their visits to schools and farms in the country, aiming to shed light on the efforts to combat child hunger there.
Pierce’s two sons graced the cover of GQ Korea last May, but while it may look like they’re destined to earn a living from their good looks and talent in front of camera, both are reportedly serious when it comes to their studies.
Dylan holds a university degree from the USC School of Cinematic Arts, while Paris, also an avid artist, had his first exhibit showcasing his paintings in Art Basel Miami in 2021.
Of their father’s influence, both Dylan and Paris speak highly. In a 2020 interview, Dylan said:
“We’re proud to honour our dad’s legacy as we join the incredible roster of previous Golden Globe Ambassadors, many of whom have gone on to pursue their own dreams in the entertainment industry.
“The biggest lesson our dad taught us is to ‘be kind’, which was an essential factor in Paris and my decision to study filmmaking and our desire to tell important stories. Having this opportunity to turn the spotlight outward on kids experiencing hunger is a true privilege.”
These days, Pierce seems to be prioritizing spending time with his family and friends. In order to keep himself out of the public eye, Brosnan bought a home in Hawaii which he has kept a secret.
The actor has indulged himself with his art. He shared glimpses of his studio and his work with fans earlier this year which caused a bit of a frenzy because of how good the work was.
Their house is built on five acres of land and is located in a beautiful oceanfront strip in Kauai, Hawaii. They bought the home in 2002, and the family has been going back and forth between there and their other home, a mansion in Malibu, California.
The family spent most time in Hawaii during the COVID-19 pandemic and made sure to partake in activities which put them in close contact with nature.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan of Pierce Brosnan. He’s been blessed with a beautiful family, and I wish them all the very best moving forward.
