Steve Irwin was in the hearts of millions of people for his work with animals and conservation. When the news of the Australian zookeeper’s death spread in 2006, understandably people all over the world were devastated.
And even more understandably so, his young family was left distraught. And even now, over a decade after his passing, they still continue to honor his legacy…
Steve Irwin left behind two children; his daughter Bindi Irwin born in 1998 and his son Robert Irwin born in 2003. The siblings along with their mother Terri Irwin are dedicated to doing the work their father started. They all work as zoo keepers in Australia and work in conservation and promoting and protecting animals.
They still make sure to uphold Steve Irwin’s legacy through his foundation. Young Bindi Irwin is a mother now herself and makes sure to let her daughter know who her grandfather was and often posts about how much she misses her father especially when she hits major milestones in life.

Today, had Steve Irwin been alive he would have turned 61 years old. His daughter Bindi Irwin did not forget this fact. She made sure to dedicate a post to her late father for his birthday on her Instagram page.
“Happy Birthday, Dad. Thank you for instilling a love for all species, courage to follow my heart and determination to make a difference in the world for wildlife and wild places.”
She continued the wish, “Your legacy lives on and the world is forever changed because of your dedication to conservation. Mum, Robert and I love and miss you so much.”
The caption was accompanied by an incredibly sweet picture of Steve Irwin with his daughter when she was very young. Steve seems to be showing a young Bindi a little wildlife creature in his hands.
The post touched thousands of fans around the world who flooded the picture with heartwarming comments.
“Your dad was a gift to the world and his legacy continues with you and your beautiful family!” a fan wrote.

Bindi Irwin was only 8 years old when she lost her father. But even now she has made sure to maintain his legacy and remind the world that her father did tremendous work by keeping it up herself.
