Brittany Mahomes shows off massive tattoo for her 3 kids – and everyone’s saying the same thing

Brittany Mahomes has revealed the meaning behind her sprawling family tattoo, but one personal detail has critics calling it “tacky” and “cheesy.”

Brittany Mahomes, 31, has spent years cheering on husband Patrick Mahomes from the sidelines as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback built one of the biggest careers in the NFL, playing alongside Taylor Swift’s husband, Travis Kelce.

Brittany and Patrick, who have been together since their teenage years, married in Hawaii in 2022. Brittany played soccer professionally before the couple went on to build a family of five.

On Sept. 27, as the Chiefs squared off against the Miami Dolphins, Brittany headed to the stands with daughters Sterling, 5, and Golden, 1, and son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 3, to cheer on their dad.

But as Brittany cradled Golden during the game, something on her arm caught attention away from the field.

‘People are so intrigued’

Stretching along the inside of her right arm was an intricate tattoo that left curious fans wanting to know exactly what they were seeing.

Two days later, Brittany answered them, giving followers their first close look at the family tribute permanently inked on her arm.

“I guess I have never showed my tattoo and people are so intrigued,” she shared on her Instagram Stories alongside a photo displaying the entire design.

The fine-line artwork runs from around her wrist toward her elbow, incorporating the side profiles of all three children along with their names and birthdays.

Tattoo honors family

But Brittany had also found a way to include their dad, according to People.

“It’s the side profiles of my kiddos with Patrick’s initials into their names and birthdays,” explained Brittany, the co-owner of the professional women’s soccer team, Kansas City Current.

The tattoo appears to have grown along with the Mahomes family.

Brittany showed an earlier version in 2023 after Bronze was born, when the design featured the names and birthdays of her two oldest children. Golden, who joined the family in January 2025, was later incorporated into the artwork along with the children’s profiles.

‘Pretty white trash’

While the tattoo clearly carries plenty of meaning for Brittany, putting the full design online also gave strangers plenty to say about it.

Members of a Reddit community devoted to criticizing Brittany quickly picked apart everything from the placement to the children’s profiles, with one person admitting they liked part of the artwork but not the finished combination.

“I’ll say something nice – this is one of the nicest/most detailed side profile tats I’ve seen. That being said, the whole thing altogether is terrible,” the commenter wrote.

A second shared, “This is pretty white trash. I’m kinda shocked. I knew she had iffy taste, but I never realized it was this bad.”

Another thought the children’s names alone would have worked better, writing, “I think it would be cute with just their names, the faces are weird. Maybe a better placement on her body. But hey, your body girl.”

‘Tacky’ and ‘cheesy’

Yet it was Brittany’s decision to weave Patrick’s initials into the tribute that really got some critics talking.

Some described the addition as “tacky” and “cheesy,” while another suggested that having her husband’s initials tattooed on her body was a bad omen for their marriage.

“So, she technically got Pat’s name tattooed on her. Time to set the divorce clock,” they wrote, while another added, “every family member of mine who got their spouse’s name tattooed is also now divorced.”
