Marie Osmond gained fame when she was in a musical group with her brother Donny Osmond. The duo made headlines and had chart topping hits.
However she believes the fortune she made will not be passed on to her children…
Everyone knows and adores singer Marie Osmond. She has been in the limelight since an early age. She was only three years old when she performed with her brothers for the first time.
She later signed to the same label as her brothers and released her own music. Her first single ‘Paper Roses’ reached the number 1 spot on two Billboard charts cementing her place in the music industry.
Since then Marie Osmond’s career has been incredible. She has released massive hits since then. And of course, during the course of her successful career she has made a lot of money too.
Like most parents in Hollywood, people might expect Marie Osmond to also spoil her children. But the singer has made sure her children know the value of a dollar and has made it a point not to spoil them financially.
Marie Osmond has six biological children and several stepchildren. While she supports all of them, she thinks she will be doing her children a “disservice” if she left them all her money.

Osmond reportedly has a $20 million estate, and if she does not spend all of her money before she passes, it will all go to charity.
She detailed why she would do this, “Honestly, why would you enable your child to not try to be something? I don’t know anybody who becomes anything if they’re just handed money. To me, the greatest gift you can give your child is a passion to search out who they are inside and to work. I mean, I’ve done so many things from designing dolls [and much more]. I love trying [and] I wanna try everything. I’m a finisher.”
She does not want her children to be dependent on their inherited wealth and fail to do anything in their lives on their own. This fear has kept Osmond from coddling her children too much as well.
But she does not keep all her wealth to herself and helps her children out everyone once in a while. She covered half the cost of all their first cars after they earned the other half themselves. But other than that, she keeps her purse strings quite tight.
“I worked hard. And I’m gonna spend it all and have fun with my husband,” Osmond said.
It is surprising to see how strong her beliefs are about this. Especially when the norm in Hollywood usually is to never deny your children anything!
