We’re so used to seeing celebrities dressed to the nines, filtered and fixed to the high heavens, that it’s never not interesting to see them stripped down to the barest necessities.
Here at Newsner, we’ve covered all manner of A-listers who have, for one reason or another, embraced a ‘no make-up’ look at some point. Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Anniston… the list goes on, and it’s not only those named Jennifer either.
No, former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson turned plenty of heads last week when she turned up for the Isabel Marant Spring/Summer 2024 womenswear fashion collection presentation as part of Paris fashion week.
Now, when you imagine Pamela Anderson, you likely imagine her donning her iconic Baywatch bikini, or perhaps in some other setting dressed glamorously and likely with a few hours’ worth of hair and beauty professionals fawning over her to give the impression of perfection.
Last week, though, the 56-year-old opted for a far more natural look than usual, letting her long, blonde hair flow over her shoulders and smiling for cameras with no make-up on.
The Canadian-born model certainly did enough to catch the eye of the internet. No sooner had pictures from the event surface than did people weigh-in on her fabulous, raw look.
“Now this is pamela anderson without makeup at 56 looking gorgeous for vivienne westwood,” one Twitter user wrote of Anderson’s recent outings.
“pamela anderson going makeup free lately i’m obsessed,” another added.
A third wrote: “Pamela anderson attending paris fashion week shows and events makeup free is my motto.”
A fourth surmised: “I think Pamela Anderson looks great. We just aren’t used to thin eyebrows anymore! A fuller eyebrow makes a huge difference, but she’s still beautiful regardless.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time Anderson has elected to present herself in public without the glitz-and-glam veneer of one who has flawless paparrazzi photos in mind.
In recent years, she reportedly decided enough was enough: she no longer wanted to hide behind a face full of makeup or cosmetic procedures.
“I can’t wait to see myself old. I always said that I would recognize myself when she looked at me in the mirror. I want my hair to be naturally gray, not to wear makeup. I mean, that’s my comfort state,” Pamela said in an interview earlier this year.
While Anderson has been focused on a more minimalistic look, she’s noticed others were “doing big makeup looks,” but that doesn’t matter to her.
“It’s just like me to go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone’s doing,” she told Ellle.
“I think we all start looking a little funny when we get older,” she said. “And I’m kind of laughing at myself when I look at the mirror. I go, ‘Wow, this is really…what’s happening to me?’ It’s a journey.”
