Recently, Candace Cameron Bure appeared on the Breakdown podcast hosted by actress and television show host Mayim Bialik. Naturally, the two women began talking about Bure’s longstanding marriage to former hockey player, Valeri Bure.

The actress revealed that even after 26 years of marriage, she was still “physically,” “spiritually,” and “mentally” in love with her husband. And that maintaining that bond was important to them.

“Laughter is one of my love languages,” she told Bialik in the podcast.

“I grew up with comedians on the show [Full House]. I’ve been around laughter my whole life. My dad’s a very funny man,” she said. “Like, I love it. So, I need to have laughter in my life, and that does come with a playfulness with my husband, so when he can make me laugh – like, it’s the best,” the actress expanded.

The actress then lamented on the negativity she saw associated with marital sex. She said, “sex within marriage gets such a bad rap” and pointed out the importance of sex within marriage as something “to be celebrated” because it is a “gift from God.”

She went on to say “blessing of being married and committed to someone,” and said that in her case, longer marriages being sexless is not true at all.

“I’m not trying to talk about my sex life,” she was quick to explain. “But I do think it is important to share what a healthy sex life within marriage can be just in saying like that that’s important.”

“It’s an important part of the relationship that we make time for one another, that we still love each other both physically, you know, spiritually, mentally, all of the things,” Bure went on. “It all comes hand in hand.”

“I’m a happier person, and my husband’s a happier person when we’ve had sex,” the actress said.

Bure is a mother to three children, 24-year-old Natasha, 22-year-old Lev, and 20-year-old Maksim.

The actress is very vocal about her faith and her marriage. In the recent past, she came under fire for some comments she made about ‘traditional marriage.’

“My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them,” Bure said about the faith-based network. “I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

“I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” she added. This caused people to assume she does not support LGBTQ relationships as in the past the actress has been known to stay silent on such issues.

In 2015, Bure, who was co-host of The View at the time, publicly sided with a bakery that refused to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding.

“I don’t think this is discrimination at all,” she said at the time. “This is about freedom of association, it’s about constitutional rights, it’s about First Amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with.”

As for her statement about ‘traditional marriage,’ the actress later clarified that it was never her intention to hurt anyone and that the media fanned flames over a non-issue. She wrote in a post explaining herself, “If you know me, you know that I am a person who loves fiercely and indiscriminately. My heart yearns to build bridges and bring people one step closer to God, to love others well, and to simply be a reflection of God’s huge love for all of us.”
