The world oftentimes seems bleak and full of negativity. But then you read a piece of news that offers a glimmer of hope that there is indeed still good in the world.
This story of a good samaritan rescuing an animal is one such story.
Michigan gets quite cold during the winters and this year was no exception. The city of Muskegon also experienced a historic winter storm. All residents were bundled up to battle the cold.
The day after the massive snowstorm, a resident of the city named Kelly was outside when she saw something that caught her eye. She spotted a furry little thing on the ground. It was a cat who got caught in the storm and found itself frozen to the ground on East Laketon Avenue and Wood Street in Muskegon.
Kelly wasted no time and picked up the cat and rushed him to emergency vet services. She wanted to rescue the poor frozen animal and perhaps find out if he had a microchip that could help track his owner.
The vet and his staff refer to the cat as ‘Elliot.’ When Elliot came in his body temperature was only 94 degrees and his eyes had completely crusted shut from the cold.

The staff immediately got to work to save Elliot’s life. They administered warm IV fluids, cleaned his eyes, and checked for any injuries, according to the Facebook post they made.
While Elliot is now stable, the vet’s office says the next 24 hours are critical for his recovery. They also do not have any of his information and are asking the public to step forward if they have any details of Elliot’s real identity and owners.
You can also help with Elliot’s vet bills by making a donation through the Muskegon Humane Society’s website.
Poor little Elliot has been through so much. We are praying that he gets better soon and is reunited with his family as soon as possible.
